The Five Elements are a collection of mystical portals that invite you to embark on a Journey guided by the unique energies and wisdom of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit.
When I crafted the final version of the Basic Collection of the Magic of the Animal Kingdom Oracle Card Deck I wanted to include a general type of spread that could be used to utilise the wisdom of Animal Spirit Guides. This seemed like the perfect type of spread that could be used for when you need broad guidance for a personal issue or a specific situation in your life. I have oriented it to utilise the wisdom of animals of course, but this spread could be used for any oracle card deck.
If you wish to document your spread, I have included a free downloadable page below that you can print out to note down your insights for your spread, or you can print it out in large format and use it to actually lay out your spread on too if you wish. Have fun!

The five Elements
The Five-Card Elemental Spread is a sacred journey through portals of wisdom, bridging the practical, emotional, passionate, mental, and spiritual aspects of your life under the loving guidance of animal spirits.
Earth – Practical Actions
As you open the Earth portal, you draw upon the wisdom of this particular animal spirit to reveal practical actions and tangible steps to address your current situation. This card embodies grounded and tangible guidance, illuminating the path forward in the physical realm.
Water – Emotions and Intuition
The Water Realm card embodies the emotions and intuitive wisdom of the guiding animal spirit. It allows you to navigate the currents of your feelings and inner intuition, offering profound insight.
Fire – Passion and Desires
The Fire portal is ignited by the passionate energy of the relevant animal spirit and dives into the gateway of your inner desires and motivations, revealing what truly sets your spirit ablaze and how to harness that fiery energy for positive transformation.
Air – Thoughts and Ideas
The Air card serves as a portal to mental clarity and innovative ideas, guided by the intellectual wisdom of this particular animal spirit. It invites you to explore your thoughts, ideas, and mental perspectives related to the matter at hand.
Spirit – Higher Purpose and Guidance
The Spirit portal card connects you with the higher purpose and spiritual wisdom of the animal spirit to unveil the deeper significance of your situation and aligns it with your soul’s journey, triggering guidance from your inner self or spiritual guides.
how to do the reading
Begin by grounding yourself and setting a clear intention for the reading by asking for insights into your life or for help with a specific situation. Open your heart to the wisdom of the animal spirits as you prepare to journey through these portals.
Shuffle the oracle cards, recognizing them as sacred portals to the animal kingdom’s wisdom. When the time feels right, draw five cards, one for each elemental portal.
As you turn over each card, you are stepping through the portals, beginning with Earth and continuing through Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. Take your time to absorb the symbolism and essence, letting the energy of each animal spirit guide you.
Interpret each card within the context of its animal spirit element, considering how it relates to your query or situation. Note any recurring themes or connections between the cards.

You can note down your thoughts for each of the cards in your journal. This allows you to synthesize the insights from the animal spirit portals to form a holistic understanding of your situation. Seek the overarching message or guidance that emerges, knowing that you have been guided through these mystical gateways toward a deeper understanding of your journey.
